Synopsis
A man and a woman live on an immense, desolate plain. In the corner of the room is a three-member dance orchestra. The woman is writing a book by the fireplace. The man returns late from work every day. What she does not know is that he is saving mankind and that out of love for her he conceals the fact that the world is coming to an end.

Although they dance delightfully to the sounds of the orchestra, tensions mount. The hideous reality outside slowly invades the living room. Once the plain was full of trees, but now that the firewood has run out, the marital bed is being chopped to pieces. Determined to save the relationship, the wife sends for a mind reader. He uncovers truths that completely upset the situation.
