Zonder Handen / Without Hands (2014)

This 5-minute experience is the first collaboration with animation artist Demian Albers (Studio Apvis).

The spectator is immersed in a philosophical poem that comes to life. The experience critically reflects on the medium (VR) itself, by elaborating on what it means to be in a world as a floating head, a world that is vast and omnipotent, but lacks an experience of the body and embodied life.

The poem in the experience is recited by Eva Duijvestein (NL).

During the meeting at Saturday 13th of December 2014 at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam four teams presented their work they made for the project ‘Literature at the screen’. This program was supported by the cooperation between the Netherlands Literature Foundation (Nederlands Letterenfonds), Foundation for Stimulating Creative Industry (Stimulerings Fonds voor Creatieve industrie) and the research department of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
