Synopsis
One Sunday, Zerline enters the room of the young tenant Andreas. He has only just moved into the Baroness’ house, where Zerline serves. She has resolved not to leave the room until she has told the young man her own life story. And the Baroness’s, because the two stories are one. Zerline’s desire for love, children and domestic happiness – everything the baroness got and she didn’t – has developed into a dangerous determination. Zerline reveals Andreas a life story of ruling and serving, loving and hating.
